Happy birthday, my beautiful sister!
I hope you know that is exactly how I see you. My beautiful sister. Do you know, I still remember my wedding day when the head table was being introduced? While I can't remember what was said about the rest of my bridal party, I do remember what was said about you. You were introduced as someone who was able to give me what I had always desired; a sister. And I remember in that moment, my heart leaped in my chest. That day, you became my sister.
It has been so amazing watching you grow and change in the last 18 years. You've gone from being a  sweet, shy, tender hearted teenager, (I bet your parents would add a few other descriptive words to your teen years! Ha!) to a gorgeous, confident, and still tender hearted, woman; wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. And I want you to know, I like the person you are! I love your vibrant personality! Your gorgeous smile lights up a room! (Actually, that gorgeous smile also lights up a raft full of friends whilst they paddle like crazy through the rapids and you pose sweetly for the camera! Lol!) You are so beautiful inside and out. And your tender, compassionate heart, is one of the things I love best about you.

Colossians 3:12-14

Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.

Jessica, I have seen your compassionate heart over, and over again. You practice this gift in such a beautiful way. You exhibit emphathy in a way that inspires me. You have an ability to see people in a way that few do. Your compassionate heart reflects the heart of your Saviour. And there is nothing better than to have a heart that reflects His!
Jessica, I'm so proud of the woman you are becoming. My prayer is that you will continue to grow in compassion, and kindness, humility, meekness, patience, forgiveness and above all, love. This is who you are; who you were created to be. You are made to be uniquely you. No one else can fulfill the roll that you were created to fill. There is no other girl in the world like you, and I am so blessed that I am priveledged to know you; to call you sister; to call you friend.
May your day be blessed! And may you continue to bless all those you come in contact with!
I love you!
