Happy birthday, sweet Emersyn!
Oh, how I love you! You are only two years old, and you have stolen my heart! I do realize though, that the feeling is not mutual. I'm guessing that right now, I'm just the crazy Auntie that kisses and squeezes you when you would rather I didn't! Don't worry, I don't take offence. But only because you are just two! One day, I hope you will squeeze and kiss me back!
You are such a little firecracker! I don't know how you do it, but you always manage to wiggle your way to being the centre of the Tarcon family. When we are all together, you keep us all on our toes! You are feisty! And sweet! You are determined and persistent. And your beautiful smile could melt the hardest of any hearts.
I am so very much enjoying watching you grow and change. Each day, you are growing closer and closer to becoming who God has intended for you to be. It is so amazing to me that while we, the family that loves you so desperately, watch the changes take place day by day, our God has already seen the completed picture of who you will be in Him. He knows your future. He has a beautiful plan and purpose for you. You are so fearfully, and wonderfully made! You have been uniquely and beautifully created. There is no one else on this earth with your special gifts and talents. Right now, the shoes you wear are sweet and tiny, but Emersyn, there is not one other person on this earth who could fill them!
From the day you were born, I have known there was something so special about you. When your Uncle Jason and I were driving to Red Deer to come and see you for the the first time, God impressed the word mercy into my heart. I've always thought that word so fitting for you. If mercy was spelled with an s, mersy, it's actually part of your name.
Emersyn, the merciful.
That's how I see you.
Luke 6:32-36 says,
“If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount. But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful."
Emersyn, like Jesus, the merciful.
You are just two. And like I said earlier, your shoes are still so tiny. But already, they have made such an impact in this world. My prayer for you, sweet girl, is that even at such a tender, young age, mercy will begin to overflow in your little life. That wherever you go, your heart will reflect the heart of the God who made you. That you will love the unloveable, do good to those who do not deserve it, and that you will give without expecting. And then, Emersyn, your reward will be great, and you will be a much loved daughter of the Most High God!
Blessings to you, sweet girl!
